Sara, along with her husband Sam and good friends Scott and Susie Brown, founded The B Brave Foundation in honor of their son Josiah (Joey). Sara was born and raised in Boras, Sweden and holds a BA in Economics from Jonkoping International Business School. She has a background in Human Resources and Organizational Development, and worked as a freelance consultant and quality control editor for leading teleprospecting firm prior to starting the B Brave Foundation in 2017. As Executive Director, Sara leads strategy and execution for all aspects of fundraising, programming and finance as well as overseeing volunteer management. She is passionate about raising awareness for GM-1 and other rare fatal neurological disorders as well as pediatric palliative care, sharing her son’s journey at www.joeybearblog.com. Sara currently serves on the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Healthcare Partners Committee and is also a board member of UnChained Love, a nonprofit that provides support through outreach and mentoring to see individuals set free and restored from sexual exploitation and human trafficking. She loves spending time with her family and friends, indoor cycling, boxing, yoga and long walks in the Metroparks.

Sam Scaparotti is the president and co-founder of The B Brave foundation. His background includes multiple business startups, production and construction management, and a bachelor's degree in urban planning. Sam works with the B Brave team to provide vision and strategic planning initiatives. Sam, his wife Sara, and a community of friends, medical professionals, and family cared for and loved their son Josiah (Joey) through a difficult but meaningful life. This experience inspired Sam and drives him to help children and families who are on the same journey.

Scott Brown is a Cleveland native with a passion for organizational leadership and a Bachelor's degree in business management As Director of Operations for B Brave, Scott utilizes his business expertise to keep the financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the foundation running smoothly. In addition to his B Brave work, he currently works as an Executive Producer at a Cleveland-based film production company, and is currently using his production experience to help share Joey's legacy through B Brave's film documentary and podcast projects. Scott's other passions include family time with his wife and son, spending time outdoors, and listening to audiobooks.

Susie serves as B Brave's Creative Director, overseeing the design & execution of all media content for the foundation. Along with her husband, Scott, she greatly cherishes the time they spent helping care for Joey, and strives to honor his legacy with her experience in both healthcare IT and graphic design. She currently works full time as a consultant for a medical software company, and keeps her creative juices flowing with occasional part-time work in interior design & styling. In addition to her work, Susie loves spending time with family and friends - particularly Scott and their adorable son, Milo - and enjoys spinning, exploring new cities, and really good coffee.
